Groovin’

Bhi covers the 1967 song “Groovin’” by The Rascals.  Written by band members Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, the New Jersey quartet had a number of Top 10 hits in the US & Canada, including “Good Lovin’”, “How Can I Be Sure?”, “A Beautiful Morning”, and “People Got to Be Free”.  ”Groovin’” stayed at #1 for 4 weeks in the summer of 1967.

Sunny

In the series opener, Bhi tackles Bobby Hebb’s 1966 classic, “Sunny”.  A beautiful song written in defiance of the loss of his older brother Harold and President John F. Kennedy, both murdered on the same day, Nov. 22, 1963.

“All my intentions were to think of happier times & pay tribute to my brother – basically looking for a brighter day – because times were at a low.” – Bobby Hebb
